Time END on November 6th. U.S. clocks will be moved
Back one hour.

SG's Tournament
of Champions are always on the third Friday of each
month. All players with a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place
win in an SG tour the month before are eligible
to play in the TOC. You must play the TOC in the
nic you qualified with, and the host will be glad
to help you figure that out during sign-ups. The
October, 2011, TOC will be held on Friday, November
18, 2011 |

The May TOC will be held on June 17, 2011.
Thanks to all the players who've added their pics
to the SG Players page. When you go to look, don't
forget to run your cursor over the pics after the
page has fully loaded -- there are some neat surprises
hiding behind some of the pics!
The Solstice this year is not going to circle the
entire globe on the same day, but the Summer Solstice
will bring the longest day of the year to the Northern
Hemisphere on June 21st.

SimmplyGammon is happy to extend
a very warm welcome to our newest bg host *Da_Mad_Tech!!!
He'll be helping us host almost 150 BG tournaments
this month!
Happy Mother's Day (May 8th),
and Happy Nurse's Day (May 12th) to all of our
SG Family & Friends! Memorial Day will be
celebrated on Monday, May 30th, giving everyone
in the U.S. a three-day weekend to kick off the
summer.

SimmplyGammon's backgammon
tournament room (TR6) at Safe Harbor Games (SHG)
was the center of extreme excitement on April
10th, 2009, when our SG Directors surprised us
with the announcement that SimmplyGames.com was
now the new name for our web site. SimmplyGames.com
will be celebrating its second birthday this month!
(Web manager's note:
SimmplyGames.com was acquired in the event we
were to go with different games other than Backgammon.
SimmplyGammon.com is a valid URL for us as we
still retain that domain name.)
This month's SG Macro
of the Month goes to…
April is "Poetry
Month" in the U.S., along with April 1st
being April Fool's Day, and April 15th being "Income
Tax Day". April 22nd will be Earth Day, and
April 27th will be Administrative Professionals
Day in the U.S. There will also be the traditional
Spring holidays around the world, and we wish
all of our SG Family happiness and fun!
Please be sure to join
us for the March, 2011, SG TOC, to be held on
April 15, 2011. All players who made an SG banner
in the month of March will be eligible. Any lazy
peeps who miss the TOC to file their taxes at
the last minute will be turned over to *TotallyWacked,
who will hug them till their heads pop off!!!

March will bring Spring
to the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn to the Southern
Hemisphere on the 20th of the month. March 2nd
will be 'Read Across America Day' to celebrate
Dr. Seuss's Birthday. March 8th will be International
Women's Day as well as 'Fat Tuesday' which marks
the end of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Check out
the SHG 'Irish' emoticons to help celebrate St.
Patrick's Day on March 17th.
Thanks to all of our
SG hosts and friends who manage to keep track
of the various time zones and seasonal changes
to our clocks. March 13th will be the beginning
of Daylight Savings Time in the U.S.
Fans of 3/5 single
elimination tournaments will be happy to see that
this month an extra one has been added to the
SG schedule for us. The new one will be in the
10 p.m. time slot on Sunday nights, along with
the two "regular" ones in the same time
slot on Monday and Tuesday nights.

February may be the
shortest month, but our wonderful crew of SimmplyGammon
hosts will be offering us almost 120 tours!
Were you among the
many SG players who enjoyed their early February
snowstorm days by playing extra tours with us
in TR6? The weather was so bad on Groundhog Day
(Feb. 2nd) that the Groundhog did Not see his
shadow, which is supposed to mean an early spring
in the U.S.
We hope all our SG
friends will celebrate a Happy Chinese New Year
on Feb. 3rd (Year of the Rabbit) with wonderful
food, and Valentine's Day on Feb. 14th with wonderful
chocolate! On Feb. 6th ( U.S. Super bowl Sunday)
and Feb. 27th (U.S. Academy Awards), if any of
your opps seem distracted, they may be trying
to multi-task, playing bg and watching TV and
snacking all at the same time!
